The worst interview experience of my career.
I was approached to take part in a video interview for a different role to the one that I had initially applied for which was great and proactive on their part. This ended up being a 30 minute call where the interviewer spent almost the entire call explaining the role without asking me any questions about my skills or experience.
I was told explicitly during the conversation that I would be put through to an in person interview and was even told who would reach out to me to arrange this and when I should expect to be contacted. A few hours later, I received an email saying my application would not be progressed to the next stage.
This message was so generic and so contradictory without explanation that I assumed it must have been a mistake. After reaching out for more information, I was told they were interviewing fewer candidates than initially expected. There was no apology or empathy for the fact that I had been told I was being progressed earlier that day.
The job market is hard enough already without experiences like this where I felt totally disrespected.
