I interviewed at Platphorm (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Had a phone interview that went well, and was asked if I'd be willing to do a skills test. This is a pet peeve of mine--I mean, they already saw my work in my portfolio, and employers thinking their product is so rare and special that an employee's exact same experience won't transfer to it is generally a bad sign. But I said sure, and she then said, "It shouldn't take more than a few hours." A FEW HOURS?? It did indeed take hours, which were hard to fit in, considering I was working on a contract project at the time. Then I went to the office for an in-person interview, where I was greeting by a puzzled-looking worker who didn't know I was coming, and I was left to wait for a long time before having an interview with three possible co-workers, then another with the supervisor, who was snappish; it's a bad sign when you think during an interview, "I don't want to work for this person." Then there was an interview with the head of the company, who was pleasant, although I found him a little condescending. On the way home from the interview, I knew I would take the job if offered it, because I needed it, but I dreaded it. The only time I've ever been relieved not to get an offer.
