2 hour timed practical test where I had to code a solution for them, I didn't appreciate writing free code for them and won't do that again for any employer, waste of my Saturday morning. Alarm bells rung at that point that they were gonna be demanding beyond their station. Next in-person interview with tech team followed by managers. Reminded me why I don't like startups, typical and well deserved inferiority complex of the desirability of their company, although employees there seemed nice enough. Position was contract and turned out they wanted me to go perm after 3 months, which I declined to consider. They didn't take that well. But then I went in for a contract interview and certainly didn't want to go perm coming from a good company to them. It was an average £450 p/d 3 month contract, only worth considering if it was going to roll on, rather than them try to turn me perm just after getting me, no doubt at a 50% pay cut. Devious attempt to pressure someone into becoming perm, to get someone better than they could initially attract as a perm. Luckily I waited and got an offer somewhere infinity better to the boon of my career.
