I interviewed with Prowess Consulting, where I successfully cleared two rounds—one with the Prowess team and another with their client, Microsoft. Following this, I was extended an offer with a joining timeline of 45 days.
During this period, I was actively working with my current organization to negotiate an early release. I maintained regular communication with the HR team at Prowess and kept them informed about my progress. However, my current organization required a few additional days due to delays in finding a suitable replacement.
I requested a short extension of the Date of Joining, which was a reasonable and common ask given the situation. Despite my transparency and proactive communication, the request was declined without flexibility.
Additionally, the HR communication became increasingly unprofessional and pressurizing. I was repeatedly given ultimatums and felt threatened that the offer would be revoked if I did not comply strictly with the original timeline, without consideration of the practical constraints I had clearly communicated.
Eventually, the offer was revoked solely due to the inability to meet the exact joining deadline. This experience was disappointing, as it reflected a lack of empathy, flexibility, and professional handling from the HR team, especially after I had successfully cleared all interview rounds, including with the client.
Overall, this situation created unnecessary stress and demonstrated poor candidate experience, which is important for future applicants to be aware of.
