      Software Engineer Interview

      May 15, 2026
      Anonymous employee
      Los Angeles, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Puffy (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Two rounds. First was a casual 30-minute conversation with the team lead — two easy verbal coding questions followed by a general discussion about the team and the work. Very relaxed. Second round was a technical session focused on designing a React component within given constraints — open internet and LLMs allowed, which made it feel practical and realistic. The whole process felt thoughtful and team-specific rather than generic. Great experience overall.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Build a React component to accomplish a specific task within defined constraints.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Puffy (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026

      Interview

Three rounds covering a good range. First was behavioral — a relaxed conversation about previous experience and the team. Second was technical, focused on a system design question around scalability and optimization. Third round went deeper on behavioral, with rapid-fire scenario-based questions that tested how you think on your feet. Each round had a distinct purpose which made the overall process feel intentional and well-organized. The people were sharp and easy to talk to throughout.

Walk me through a project you worked on in a previous role — what was your contribution and what did you learn from it?
