Applied for a position on LinkedIn, and was called the following day by an absolutely lovely woman who scheduled me for an interview that afternoon. The interview was extremely informal, with both the interviewer and his assistant (the woman I spoke to over the phone) sitting in. After a series of brief questions about my resume, and some textbook interview questions (“what is your greatest weakness?” among them), I was given a tour of the office and met the Sales and Accounts teams. Everyone was nice and seemed happy to be working there. I emailed the assistant my available references (I was waiting back to hear from someone) later on that day as requested.
I never heard from a single person from the office again. I followed up a couple of times over the following couple of weeks, with not so much as an automated acknowledgment; given that this company works in the technology sector I would have expected at least that much. Given the post-interview experience, I don’t even know if I would want to work for them if offered the chance now that I’ve seen how they treat people the perceive as being of no use to them.
