Process:
1. Screening call, less than 20 minutes.
2. Coffee chat (30 minutes) + Technical interview (75 minutes) all together = 105 minutes in one continuous session.
3. A day in the office, 9AM - 3PM.
My honest feedback:
1. My biggest feeling throughout this entire hiring process is that Pushpay has drawn a solid picture of the kind of person with certain skillsets they want to hire, with minimal flexibility. They're not interested in your other potential outside of the JD itself.
2. Zero behavioral questions, as they value technical skills only.
3. Technical interview questions reflected very specific preference of the senior engineer which is unexpected.
4. All interview processes require candidates to visit their on-site office, but some of their senior people only show up in a Zoom call which feels a lack of mutual respect.
5. The HR has been blurry during the phone screening about the interview process. I was not clearly informed that there would be a "day spent in the office" at the beginning, and only after passing the 2nd stage, at which point it was difficult to withdraw.
6. The day in the office is no doubt very time costly to candidates, and I don't see the point of it. They want to check your operational proficiency more like testing a robot than a human being.
7. After such an extensive process, the feedback provided to unsuccessful candidates was generic and uninformative. This is the part I was most displeased about, and it also confirmed my discomfort since the beginning, which I had thought was just me being too sensitive.
