I interviewed at RYCOR (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2023
Interview
It was a 3 stage interview: zoom screening, in-office panel interview and the final boss interview. All together, the interview process was good, not too heavy on the behavioural questions, seemed like they were looking for a good fit first and foremost. And the team seemed like a friendly bunch. It was very clear that there is no HR/recruiter, it was hard to get clear answers to basic questions (range, benefits, actual title). I did not find out any of that until I received the offer. Advice: make sure you share this information in the first stage to save everyone's time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RYCOR (Vancouver, BC) in May 2023
Interview
Pretty standard pre-screen Zoom that latest about 30mins. I was sent a Calendly and I selected my date/time a few days out. Logged in and waited the full 30mins with no one else showing up. I emailed them a reminder 10mins in, and didn’t hear back until a couple hours later - they’d forgotten about our appointment. Rescheduled for the following day, which they attended.
Moved on to round 2 in-person panel interview with a demonstration component of 7 basic tasks. Met with 2 members of their management team. Lots of great chit chat, asked a few situational questions - otherwise, it was more focused on my previous experiences and roles. The 2 of them seemed like this was their first time conducting a joint in-person interview though, and wasn’t really structured on who was going to ask what questions. Got a great impression that I did well and would hear back from them the following week.
Didn’t hear back from anyone and waited 3 days then sent a group follow up email, and nothing. Sent a nudge to the recruiter 2 days later, and nothing. Sent a follow up nudge to all 3 again and finally heard back that they were going with someone else.
