      Modern Javascript Developer Interview

      Mar 6, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rangle.io (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2016

      Interview

It was good and productive. Started with a senior developer, asked some whiteboard javascript questions and then met another senior person who asked a lot of general questions about different platforms and architecture plus some javascript. I got a call few days after the interview that they don't want to continue. I didn't get any offer but I happy with everything.

      Modern Javascript Developer Interview

      Feb 6, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rangle.io (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2017

      Interview

I submitted application in october 2016. Got an email end of december. Did phone screen in first week of January. Recruiter/HR gave me a coding assignment in which you only have to answer 2/4 questions. Completed it and got an in person interview on Jan 20. The interview I thought was really great. I met with 2 senior devs separately each 1hour long. The devs were really patient and thorough with explanations. I even learned alot from one of them. Both were technical interviews. They both asked me about my experience. 1 interview involved a whiteboard coding (recursion) algorithm and the other was going through javascript code on a laptop and asked how i could make it better. At the end of the interview I met up with HR/Recruiter and he gave me a book on SCRUM (great book btw) and told me I would hear back by jan 24 (2 business days after my interview) and showed me out. I followed up with an email on jan 24th evening and didnt hear back. I followed up again jan 27 with no response. I was eager to know if I got an offer because I had a pending offer elsewhere. My first choice would have been rangle since I hear alot of great things about this company. As I am writing this they still havent responded. I thought the technical interview was overall great but HR/Recruiter needs to follow up. I found it pretty bad that they dont even respond. If I didnt get the job they could just say so, it doesnt take that long to compose/reuse a boilerplate email giving response of either, you have an offer, we are not looking or you are not a suitable candidate.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Write a recursive function in javascript on whiteboard. How to implement boilerplate functions.
