      Interview

The strangest interview experience I have had. I applied and then got a call from a 3rd party recruiter. Had an interview with him via zoom and it went well. Then I kept getting different times and dates to meet with the director Sarah however eventually I received the correct time and date. Then the Initial interview with the director at a cafe. We had an extensive conversation about the role and what is required. On top of discussing potential growth opportunities that would come with time. I left with a good feeling because the director appeared to like me I was offered to meet the rest of the team 2 days later. I was only told that it would be an introduction only. I left with a great feeling. 10 hours before the meeting, I get a frantic phone call from the recruiter telling me there are a few questions that I need to prepare myself for. I prepared for the 13 questions as good as I could but still had confidence as the questions didn't seem that hard. Again, I didn't know that it was a panel interview instead of an introduction. Arrived at the location given and I arrived on time and we all sat down. I introduced myself and spoke about my previous experience and then they started to ask questions. The director Sarah interjected as she noticed I want being asked the questions that I was sent. Yet still we spoke about how the role would look and before I knew it, the meeting was over. I said bye to everyone and Sarah walked me out and said that it was good and she gave me a hug. The next day the recruiter called and said that it wasn't successful in the interview. I was dumbfounded to say the least. Nothing made sense. I thought the next steps would be a reference check (which I have prepared ) in order to verify what I said what I have done professionally. I reached out to Sarah, via LinkedIn and asked her what happened. She stated that I didn't give meaty answers to the questions that were required and that I didn't hit it on the nail. It was so confusing. Nothing made sense. I replied with a few question as to why I wasn't given any clear answers and that the ill preparation appeared mutual. My message has since not even been looked at. This really hurt me as I truly believed in the company.
