I spoke with an HR consultant and director of HR via video call. The interview went well but in my opinion, was very in depth for it to be a quick screening. In addition to asking about my background, they asked a lot of questions like “Tell me about a data project you worked on” and “How do you prioritize your work?”. I waited about a week to hear about next steps and I received an email stating if I was still interested in the position, I would have to complete a take home assignment. It was standard, answer this email from a stakeholder and write some SQL to generate a report to answer their hypothetical questions. I completed it to the best of my ability and turned it in right away in order to keep momentum in the interview process. I didn’t hear from anyone for over 2 weeks, and then suddenly got a rejection with no feedback about the work I spent 2 hours on or explanation for the decision. Just totally left in the dark, which is surprising for such a small company. I never even got to speak with a hiring manager. It’s hard not to assume the worst and think this take home assignment was not “hypothetical” at all… At any rate, hopefully, whoever interviews with them in the future has a much better experience but I rate this one 0 out of 5 stars. Good luck!
