I applied through Indeed, was then contacted via email and asked to write a 200 word statement for why I wanted to work at Resooma and also fill out a survey.
I did both.
It’s been an incredibly long period of time now, and not only has the recruiter completely ignored my responses (that THEY asked me for!), and not updated me....but to my surprise - they’ve reposted the role on Indeed!
I think the fact you need to leave a review (which helps build their platform), as part of your application is sneaky recruitment and probably prohibited somewhere in law. That review proves nothing about your ability to do the role and to me, seems unrelated. To put it into perspective, it would be like EBay saying to their candidates that they need to upload a listing to apply. Or like Trustpilot saying to their candidates they need to review a company in order to apply. Both these things benefit the company and prove nothing about the candidate’s suitability for the role. What’s the purpose?
Ghosting candidates after you’ve gone out of your way to specifically ask them to use their precious time that they’ll never get back jumping through hoops is also incredibly poor recruitment, and massively disappointing.
For the reasons above, I would not recommend applying to any positions with Resooma. It’s either a big ploy to gather more data/reviews, which in turn makes their platform stronger/more profitable...or, they just don’t care enough to treat their candidates respectfully. It could also be both, but why wait to find out? Save your time and don’t apply.
