I just had the most informal interview ever...to the point where I was a little unnerved at the beginning. So basically, it was very casual as it was an adult dating company. I was early, the owner was right on time. Adult dating companies are fairly discreet...so the location was intimidating at first. The owner basically said "so how's it going?". I was a little unsure of how to respond. I hesitantly started with my current job and that I'm looking for full time. So he was like "why? More money?" so I was like..."um, yeah? More growth opportunities." he had this really intimidating stare, but it was fine after a bit as they said later they wanted to be up front about the culture. The thing that shocked me most was that they were comfortable using profanity during the interview. And I thought my current job was too laid back!
So he went into the job description, which sounded really complicated and new. But basically there is no job description, you have to generate leads and revenue for the company by gaining affiliates and each week could be entirely different affiliates. So basically it is a digital direct sales type of position. Since it is a growing start up, they were up front and said you would need to be on call 24-7. That was the deal breaker for me.
My homework assignment was to find a potential affiliate and how to market to them within 24 hours. I ended up deciding this wouldn't be a good fit.
