I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Ricochet (Brighton, England) in Apr 2023
Interview
Travelled all the way from Scotland for a second interview in Brighton only to have a re-run of the exact same questions from the first interview.
Interviewers knew I was coming from a far but didn't even bother to offer me a glass of water.
The reception was frosty and it was obvious that they thought very highly of themselves. Undeservedly so.
By the time I interviewed with Ricochet in Brighton I already had an offer for a higher level position from a considerably larger post production company in Soho, London. I was transparent about this during my interview which seemed to annoy my interviewers.
The interview was very short and I was immediately shown the door. They didn't even bother to give me a tour of the facilities which is customary in this industry.
Three days later I received a very rude email from one of the interviewers telling me that they won't be proceeding with another interview because I "wasn't qualified". Utterly outrageous lack of tact, especially considering they knew I was already offered a higher position by their competitors.
These people are so incompetent it's actually funny!
Not getting a job with this company was the best thing that happened to me. I'm already on my second promotion in two years and I'm earning way more money now than I would have had in this place.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Sorry, can't recall any questions because they were irrelevant to the actual job advertised.
Comprehensive, clear and good processes. I felt listened to and was asked the right questions. I was also given the opportunity to explore the role in detail. Blah blah blah 30 word minimum.
