I applied for a C#/.NET Developer position. After my CV was shortlisted, the company contacted me to discuss my current role, current salary, and expected salary. They then scheduled an online interview and provided a fixed time to join.
During the interview, there were two interviewers: one from HR and another who was a developer. The HR representative introduced me to the developer, who then started the technical discussion.
Initially, the developer asked me a couple of questions related to the .NET framework and C#. However, after that, the focus shifted toward frontend technologies. I was asked around 12–15 questions related to JavaScript and React.
I mentioned that I had applied specifically for a C# and backend-focused role. Despite this, the questioning continued to focus on frontend topics. This mismatch made the overall interview experience quite disappointing.
