I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rowan Group (Manchester) (Preston, North West England, England) in Feb 2022
Interview
I was contacted directly by the Company directly, after they had come across my profile on LinkedIn. After a couple of telephone calls and Zoom meetings (in which I was given the wrong time both times and asked for my CV twice after already providing it) I was invited to their offices to meet the team the position was for. In between this, I was asked my current salary (which I had already discussed on the phone) and was told this role would be in excess of my current salary, which I have being confirmed on email. The interview itself went well and a second interview was arranged the following week, where I was told I would be asked to put together a presentation. This request was not sent to me until 3 days before my interview, bearing in mind I have a full time job, they admitted it wasn’t a lot of notice and apologised. My second interview again went well and I was told someone would essentially be in touch with an offer. Soon after leaving, I was called and asked what salary I would be looking for should I be offered the position. When I mentioned I had already been told it would be more than my current salary, they tried basically bartering me down by several thousand, saying my potential bonuses would make up the difference. I said I would have to think about what the minimum was I would accept, leaving the conversation at that they would try to get as close to my current salary as they could. I didn’t hear anything for 3 days, only to get a call to be told I was no longer being considered for the position but thanking me for my excellent presentation! I emailed asking for further clarification on their decision after such a U-turn on previous conversations, to be ignored and get no response.

Knowledge of SME and Private Equity
I applied online. I interviewed at Rowan Group (Manchester) (Chorley, England) in Dec 2018
Interview
I actually interview twice for Rowan. I came to them initially and had a thorough interview with the manager and was then booked in for a second interview with the Founder and Director (a presentation on myself, what I know about Rowan, the SME market and how I fit into that) but I was offered another position before that took place, which I took.
I came back to them after I was unhappy in the role I took and the door was opened for me to come back into the recruitment process again. I started again from the beginning and had another very thorough interview and a presentation with the Director. The depth the interview went into was great for me and for the business too - it highlighted to the business if I was the right fit for them but also if it was the right role for me. Throughout the process I had the opportunity to evaluate if Rowan were right for me and I had coaching and support through the second stage from the internal recruiter and the manager.
