      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SKYCATCHFIRE

      Interview

While the founder of the company was affable and laid back, I have a feeling that working at SkyCatchFire is anything but a relaxed experience. I'll start by saying that the interviewer was affable and approachable; that being said, the actual interview was very difficult. The questions themselves were not hard to answer; instead, the problem was with the types of questions asked. The questions were extremely vague and broad. It's my understanding that interviews are meant to be conversations. It is very difficult to have a productive conversations when the questions lobbed at you are extremely open ended. When I tried to narrow down my possible answers by inquiring more about the job description I was met with absolutely nothing. The interviewer had no idea how to voice what he was looking for in an employee or even what the job description would be. The only answer given were two vague examples which applied more to an office assistant rather than an executive assistant. Judging solely on the interview, I have a feeling that this environment has a start- up "sink or swim" mentality where you are given very little and expected to do a lot with it.
