I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SOPB (Miri) in Feb 2016
Interview
The interview started with salary negotiation. My expected starting salary was 3.5K but only offered 2.3K. After knowing what I can do and knowing that I am an overseas grad with first class standing, he rises my salary from a basic of 2.5K plus allowances and benefits, summing up to 2.6k - 2.7k. with that kind of salary and the location is far away from town (Palm Oil Mill), that kind of salary is not making any sense.
Required to work 6 days a week and have to be on stand-by on Sunday (unofficially 7 days a week job), the salary is too low. Accommodation is provided but u need to have your own transport (to go to the mill and buying weekly supply). OT is not claimable through cash but can be converted to leave.
For a labor-level job like this, management trainee should get at least 3k. If not, oil palm industry wont be able to attract much young talent to support the older generation.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SOPB (Miri) in Mar 2012
Interview
You can consider yourself lucky if SOPB calling you for an interview. Because SOPB will call someone for an interview, it means they will hiring you. It only depend on yourself whether you want to accept the job or not and able to work far from town. Lastly, just discuss about your salary.
