I interviewed for a junior position after being contacted by their Operations Manager via Indeed. While I appreciated the opportunity and the consideration shown during the first round of interviews, I ultimately decided to withdraw my application after the second round.
For the second round, I was invited to the office to meet in-person with the CEO. I strongly feel that this interaction could have been more thorough. The interview lasted less than ten minutes! -and I noted a lack of preparation on his part, as he said he did not have my resume. The focus was primarily on my potential relocation rather than my skills and experience. He seemed very scattered and self-righteous.
I recognized that relocation would be a necessary consideration for success in this position; however, despite conveying my openness to this possibility, I was not afforded adequate time to elaborate on my background and qualifications. It also seemed as though he expected me to ask more questions than he had prepared for me.
Having driven over an hour to attend the interview, I was hoping for a more meaningful conversation that reflected that effort. Overall, I felt that the work environment did not align with my expectations and professional goals.
