      .NET Developer Interview

      Jul 14, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Dearborn, MI
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Savance (Dearborn, MI) in Jul 2015

      Interview

We did a phone interview and then a followup interview that was technical. They wanted to see that I was comfortable developing on my own machine, so I had to set up my box with Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio ( I used the Express versions). It was another phone interview (actually we used GoToMeeting) where I had to share my screen while they watched me work through some problems. The problems were challenging but not overly difficult and they wanted to see my thought process and how well I could pick up new concepts. I didn't feel pressured or uncomfortable at all and overall I enjoyed the experience and even learned a bit.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Create a few tables in SQL to represent a model, write a few queries. Then a basic C# test of my problem solving skills. I was given a simple string manipulation problem.
