I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Seamless in Jan 2021
Interview
Behavioural interview and a coding interview. Went smoothly, good recruiters. I found that this experience went as I expected, there was nothing out of the ordinary for a software development positions.
Other Software Engineer Interview Reviews for Seamless
This interview was just... weird. There's no other word for it. The HR representative asked questions that didn't make sense with my level of experience, as if they were trying to downplay my experience. She also said that my compensation would be directly tied to the score I got on two assessments. So if you're a good timed test taker, they might use it to try to use it as an excuse to lower your salary. If you're a bad timed test taker, you're hosed.
They also wanted to know about my experience with SaaS companies and went through each company on my resume to see if it was actually SaaS. I get having industry experience (and I've only worked for SaaS companies), but I get the sense that they're not used to working with engineers or get what they do. For a tech company, they really don't understand tech workers...
HR talks a good game about their culture, but buyers beware. Do yourself a favor: READ THE REVIEWS FOR THIS COMPANY. Apparently, the CEO is a Grant Cardon proponent (ick) and the company invades their employees' privacy. Either trust people to be remote, or don't do it. I think that says everything you need to know about their culture...
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They were OBSESSED with their specific tech stack and every little piece of it. They wanted to know how many years of experience I had with every. single. piece. It came across to me as them trying to find an excuse to lowball my compensation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Seamless (Columbus, OH) in Jan 2022
Interview
Interviewing process took about a month total. Need an initial phone screening, then a HackerRank test, then an interview with the CTO/CEO. Overall not a bad experience if you're actually interested in working here
