I heard from the Recruiter shortly after applying which was a positive sign. However, when I had the intro call with the Recruiter, it wasn't a great experience. I must have been on speaker phone because every time I responded to their questions all I could hear was the Recruiter typing my response like the phone was directly next to the keyboard, so it was difficult to focus on my response. Additionally, I was asked 5-6 questions in rapid fire succession, rather than being asked one question > opportunity to answer > and then being asked follow up questions to get more detail. The Recruiter felt disinterested to be on the phone with me. There was nothing hard and fast to back this up, but it left me feeling like I wouldn't want to work for an org where they aren't screening candidates using best practices, as I mentioned above. I did end up sharing an AI notetaking tool with the Recruiter after the call so that they won't have to type and take notes on the call while the candidate is responding.
