The interview process began with an email from a recruiter to schedule a quick introductory call. Unfortunately, this initial interaction was disappointing. The recruiter was unprepared, asked only about my salary expectations, provided no meaningful information about the role or company, and didn’t seem engaged. He mentioned I’d receive a questionnaire to complete, which focused entirely on my professional experience and was fairly time-consuming.
Following that, I had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, who seemed unaware of my salary expectations—something I had already discussed with the recruiter. This created confusion and suggested poor internal communication. After that, I was asked to complete a skills-based practicum to assess my fit for the role, which took considerable time and effort.
The final step was a one-hour, in-person interview with the VP. This conversation was more structured and professional. However, despite completing all these steps, I never received any follow-up or update regarding the final decision—not even a rejection.
Overall, the process was disorganized and frustrating. The recruiter seemed incompetent, communication was lacking, and the time investment was not respected.
