I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Selfhacked (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2017
Interview
Took a 1.5 hour test, then was called back for a second interview. On the second interview, was asked to write a science article (which would take two weeks, with no pay). Once I submitted this, I was then asked to do more revisions (for free) before they could move on with the application process. At this point I refused, saying I was being asked to do too much for free. Please be hesitant that the company does not try to get a free article from you.

Question 1
Write a science article before being considered for the science editor position.
-We've been paying for test articles for the past 6 months, if a writer gets a grade of "C-" or above. A "D" grade makes the article unusable, and we don't pay for that. We do give our writers chances to fix the article and improve the grade. We have rigorous, but fair standards.
