I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Servient
Interview
I was initially brought in for a working interview. I was tasked with creating a data visualization which fell within certain parameters they laid out. Interview did not last very long. They just wanted to make sure I could actually do what I said I could.
No offer
Negative experience
Easy interview
Application
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Servient (Houston, TX) in Jun 2018
Interview
The first time Servient called me , I was surprised as they don't have any HR dept. in Houston I believe so their VP called me for interview. They called me on a working day (Thursday) Afternoon. The Interview was easy, one in person coding exercise , then another developer asked Algorithm question , then after that they organized a small meet and greet with CEO . Everything went well , the next day the VP told me they are going to forward me the offer on phone and mailed me also the same. I was excited to work for them , since it was the Friday , that guy told me that they are going to forward me the offer on Monday , I waited on Monday and I asked them when I am expecting the offer , no reply to my calls and mail. I again tried calling them on Wednesday. No reply this time too. By this time I was sure there is no offer coming so I asked if they can please tell me if I am getting the offer or not and I'll understand even if there is no offer. No reply. I am glad I didn't join the company. Such unprofessionalism shows loose morale and work ethics in company. Later people told me they don't give salary on time. I'm glad I didn't get the offer. Dodged the bullet.
We are a small sized company in Houston. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of a dedicated HR department. We receive lots of applications from well qualified candidates and we interview several of them. We put in a lot of deliberation in making a hiring decision. Our apologies that we couldn't respond within your time constraints.
