      Web Developer/Designer Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Shift Markets in Nov 2014

      Interview

The process began with a fairly standard 10-15 minute phone interview with their HR rep. This was followed by an in-person meeting with the same HR person and a senior member of the tech team, and finally a second in-person meeting with the CEO. Three interviews total.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Several questions were asked that focused on semantic knowledge of various coding languages, rather than the application and practical use of said languages. For example, I was asked to list five Javascript data types.

      Question 2

I was asked how I felt about taking on a client-facing role, as the company was also looking to fill an account manager position.
