I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SickKids (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Two stage interview; first with the director and Program Manager, then with the Team. The first stage of interview was more HR oriented, questions on how will I manage the team followed by my research experience. I was asked to select one publications/project that I liked the most and describe it in detail. The second interview was more towards introduction to the team. The rest of the team was junior and was more like a teaching session to them.
I applied in-person. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at SickKids (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2011
Interview
When my supervisor got grant money he contacted me even though I had applied months ago. I hurried to get the interview, because I had another potential job offer. At the interview itself after some introductory questions we talked about the research project which I would be working on, and what will be the expectations, for example that I will have to go to collaborating lab in US to learn some techniques. As I was interested in the project, I asked questions about it. It was a very interactive interview. I talked with the lab members about their projects and saw the lab I would be working at.
