      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Simpl

      Interview

Overall interview process happened in a single day. I enjoyed the whole interview process. Panels whom I met are very open-minded and they treated me good. 1. It started with a coding round which took 2-3 hours. They gave me extra time to finish coding test. Following code pairing round with two panels. 2. Next round is problem-solving round. also covered most of programming and ROR concepts. 3. Next round with Architect and VP, problem-solving and design rounds were covered. This round was very interactive. 4. Next round with CTO and then with Founder. Questions related to my current project and overall experience are covered here. My Overall I had a very good experience. I get to know feedback within 2 days and it was positive :-) And whole interview process was scheduled via Geektrust, They did an excellent job.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Simpl (Bengaluru) in Jan 2021

      Interview

I was approached by a recruiter on Linked about an opportunity for backend dev at Simpl. I shared my resume and then I got call from a lady that my profile has been shortlisted. She mailed me job description and a backend assignment. I have to code for Backend of Simpl Pay Later Application. 1st round - After I have completed my assignment, recruiter scheduled my interview and then I was cross questioned based on my implementation. 2nd round - This was a system design round, I was asked to design Uber System. 3rd round - Problem solving and CS fundamental, From here onwards my HR comes into picture. Quest 1 :- you are given an array in which ">" indicates vehicle going in right "<" indicates vehicle going in left. [>><>><] = 6 collison [<>><] = 2 collison Quest 2 : Create a largest number from numbers in a given array.....[3, 30, 34, 9, 5] = 9534330 CS Fundamental Questions were related to OS...like Thread, goroutine, concurrency, how requests from our browser are served by www and few question on http protocol and its component. Fourth Round - Manager Round -- Here comes the twist HR told me this is a salary discussion round and it will be taken by manager, but interviewer told me he is a senior engineer, again he started asking CS Fundamental Question.Like how from frontend to backend comes, how we feed our request, he asked about downstream, I answered that at my company we are using SFDC and Mulesoft, then he started digging into it like what call we made to SFDC, I answered like GRPC asynchronous, but he is like I am not satisfied with your answer. He was wasting my time. It is right that I don't know everything and thats why I agreed to an opportunity inorder to learn more and earn more. Summary: If you have good time to spent then go and give interview but at the end result will depend on interviewer not on how interview went. I have seen Simpl low rating on play store and and glassdoor despite went for interview and wasted my 20 days in interviewing at Simpl. Interview started on 22nd Dec 2021 and went till 12th Jan 2021.

      Backend Developer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Simpl (Bengaluru) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I applied on their careers section as well as had given an online test on Skillenza. That online test had just some normal MCQ questions plus an algorithmic problem. Then an introductory call was set up with an engineer from simpl and I thought it would be a phone screen. The engineer introduced himself and told me about simpl and their stack and the current work which they are doing and I was very impressed by the humility of the person. Then he asked me about myself and didnt ask any questions. Then a F2F interview was set up after a week. In the mail I was given a problem and told that I will have to solve it in the interview. It was an OOP problem. The first round of interview was coding that problem in their office. Then on completion an interviewer came and discussed the problem and my solution. He pointed out some things which could be made better and asked me what I can do to improve my solution. It was a very nice interaction and this round made me think of a very undervalued section in interviews which is our OOP design. The next round started with 2 engineers asking me about my past projects. Now here comes the catch, you have to be really thorough with all the concepts and stack used in your projects as whatever you say they will cross question you. The questions werent tough, they were basic concepts and in those basic concepts they will go deep. They are looking to hire great all-round engineers and not guys who would just solve GFG and turn up for the interview. It was a very healthy discussion and I received feedback from the interviewers then and there. At the starting of my interview I was told either I would be selected or I would learn stuff and definitely I learn alot. The feedback given was to the point. It was a very nice experience and made me feel that I should try once more after working on the feedback.
