The process involved one brief Microsoft Teams video call with two interviewers. They focused solely on non-technical and behavioral questions to assess my cultural fit and problem-solving mindset for the intern role.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SimplyCast (Dartmouth, NS) in Oct 2021
Interview
I applied through university coop program. They sent over a list of timings to choose what time was convenient for my interview and I did mine online (over Teams I believe). They said they would hire me during interview and sent over confirmation documents a week or two after that.

Question 1
It was a pretty quick and easy going interview with the CEO and HR manager. They asked me a bit about my background and also what type of job I would like to have in the future. There weren't any technical questions that I was asked, and I think they based my abilities off of my transcript since I didn't have any prior jobs in this field either. I was asked how much I expected to be paid and whether I would consider another work term at the company in the future.
Overall, a pretty smooth process. They were nice and the CEO took the time to explain thoroughly when I asked about the role. As I was doing this coop mostly for the experience, I asked about what tasks I would be doing in this position and such (which I was satisfied with during my time there).
I applied through other source. I interviewed at SimplyCast
Interview
None of the questions asked pertained to the actual work I performed in my previous employment. Was interviewed by the CEO and a sales guy. I appreciate a lax dress code, but this dude looked like he was getting ready to go to a blue jays game, it definitely threw off the interview. From the start he sounded quite unimpressed and passive aggressive, while the CEO was enchanted and friendly in a way that seemed very shady and cultish. The place smelled bad and the decor was awful.
