I completed the first round HR screening, but unfortunately the experience felt quite unprofessional. 1. The HR representative was late to the interview, despite us having already rescheduled to a later time than originally planned. While I understand how hectic schedules can be, this lack of punctuality felt disrespectful to me. 2. After one of my responses, there was an awkward 30+ second pause, followed by saying, “Sorry, I lost my train of thought.” Overall, the interaction gave the impression that they were more focused on how much work a candidate could do, rather than showing genuine interest in the person behind the résumé.
