I had a similar negative experience that mirrors another candidate's. I had a video chat with the CEO, who then asked me to meet with the COO. I received numerous emails from an assistant confirming my interest in the job. However, the COO eventually ghosted me.
My impression is that the people running this company say anything but don't keep their word. I've dealt with other recruiting companies that have declined me but demonstrated much higher integrity throughout the process. For example, I can speak highly of the management at Morgan McKinley.
