We are always trying to improve our hiring process and will take this into account for the future. 1) We use piratepad because it's less bandwith-intensive (so candidates with poor network connections do not have issues) and we are fine with pseudo-code so it is not that important to have another text editor. 2) Regarding "someone asks you continuously how you're thinking about the solution" - the intention is not to make you more stressed but rather to get your thought process which is more important than the correct and exact solution.
