Initial screening impressions with recruiter and HR were positive, although in hindsight it seemed odd that they were continually asking for my permission to proceed with interview process. I understand the intention is to be conversational, but as an employer if you are interested in a qualified candidate that could bring on board the skillset you are in need of, then I would think you would be the one steering.
Interview itself went well, although I could sense that there were a few misunderstandings despite both parties essentially saying the same thing. From technical standpoint, it was what I expected and wasn't difficult. I expressed my interest in proceeding with the interview process.
One week later, no follow up. Recruiter finally reached out asking how interview went and if I had been contacted by employer. I communicated that I had not been contacted, at which the recruiter said she would follow up. From that point forward, both employer and recruiter ghosted me. In my opinion, unprofessional and my impressions of the company were reduced.
