Interview
I was asked about nearly everything from my uni's curriculum and beyond. There was one practical task, which tested your algorithm's knowledge (20 minutes) and technical questions about data structures, DBMS, data protocols etc.
During the process, I had an initial screening call followed by two interviews.
Most of the questions were fairly straightforward, with some more challenging follow-up questions. I believe I answered all of them correctly, and after the interviews the interviewers themselves commented that I had strong knowledge in the discussed areas. They even skipped some questions because they considered them too obvious for me. Based on that feedback, I expected to receive an offer.
However, the rejection feedback stated that my answers were too shallow and that I did not explain the topics in sufficient depth.
Another issue was the time management during one of the interviews. The interviewer spent a significant amount of time on small talk at the beginning, which left too little time for an additional coding task. The interviewer was aware of this and asked me to explain my intended solution instead of implementing it fully. Nevertheless, the final feedback stated that I took too long on the coding task and was unable to implement a solution.
Overall, the rejection reasons felt inconsistent with the interview experience and the feedback provided during the process.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Software Mansion (Kraków) in Mar 2026
Interview
First code test, answering some questions and writing an essay about a certain chosen problem.
After that there are 2 technical interviews with coding and techincal questions. It was fairly easy, However, the person who interviewed me was not very competent and told the HR department untrue things, which I later found in my feedback.
