      Devops Engineer Interview

      Jul 25, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SoftwareMill in Jul 2018

      Interview

      1. Short remote interview. 2. Take-home. 3. Longer technical interview. Upside is that whatever the outcome of the take-home or tech interview, you will be forwarded their internal assessments, which might be informative. Downside is that the tech interview has no relation to the take-home, so if there are any blockers in your skill level/experience/etc., you won't find out about it until after spending potentially 10+ hours on the take-home. In short: if you're dead set on a particular position they advertise and think it likely you'd take their offer if given the chance, it might make sense to risk the time investment. If not, keep in mind they value their time over yours.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Standard questions about experience with devops technologies they use (jvm, containers, etc.), approach with dealing with clients, etc. Nothing unusual.
