Despite having what was said as the memorable pitch, I apparently "thought too deeply" to be considered after the second interview. After what was a great first interview, interviewer asked me odd questions as if she did not believe my experience and/or was intimidated. I was asked twice if I "really did that" regarding my published work. I was also asked another odd question ("are you a nervous person?") which was inappropriate since I worked in a field more high stakes than publishing (politics). Interviewers were clearly screening for someone who would tolerate low pay, doing grunt work, and were submissive.
I was asked if I was ok carrying boxes and if I like being told what to do or to delegate tasks. For leaders, your answer is wrong.
Entire interview tone was uncomfortable towards the end. Kept fishing for reasons to reject.
I sent a follow up and thank you email (before realizing what they were screening for) and received no response until I withdrew my application.
