I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Solent University (Southampton, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
The opportunity to present summary and insights based on the “Office for Students (OfS)” data, particularly focusing on teaching quality, learning experience, and student outcomes.
I appreciated the chance to prepare the analysis and deliver the presentation in person on their campus.
I travelled over three hours to attend the interview , where I was asked to summarise the “Office for Students (OfS)” data and present insights using Power BI. I prepared thoroughly and delivered the presentation as requested.
Despite the significant time and effort invested, I received only a generic rejection email with no feedback. I followed up with the hiring manager more than twice requesting comments, but no response was provided.
Given the nature of the task and the expectations placed on candidates, offering even brief feedback would have been both reasonable and respectful.
The lack of communication and the generic rejection felt unfair and unprofessional, especially after attending an in‑person session and completing a detailed presentation.
Was a fair interview with a panel, good experience. Had to give a short presentation. Asked about experience and skills. Friendly staff. Clear onboarding and process no problem. HR quite efficient.
