I've heard through peers that STI is an easy company to get interviews with. What sets them apart is how many rounds you go through. Email exchanges were brief and only to set up mutually convenient times. The first phone interview was with their HR Rep, who proceeded to ask general work questions (explain your previous research, what appeals to you most about working here). This interview about 30 mins. The second round a week later was a more technical interview with one of their meteorologists, asking you to explain your technical skills, your meteorological background, but nothing extreme. At this point, I was cut. However, one of my colleagues who applied at the same time I did was accepted to the next round, which consisted of a cold call on a Friday at 7 PM EST, asking to explain certain meteorological concepts, such as the ideal conditions for cold air damming, and what indices/variables you would look at first to determine the probability of a severe wx event. Supposedly, if you make it past this round (few do), they fly you out for a final round. The previous three rounds unfolded over a 15 day period.
