The interview process is broken down into 3 separate interviews:
1) First interview was with the Director of SEO and the SEO team lead. The questions were more detailed around your knowledge of SEO and your experiences.
2) Second interview was with the Director of Data Analytics and Director of Content Strategy. These questions were more about working with other teams cross-functionally and seeing if you're a good culture fit.
3) Third interview was supposed to be with the President and the VP of Marketing. I got as far to have the interview scheduled but an hour before the recruiter told me they wish I had more years of experience despite getting overwhelming positive feedback from the previous interviews.
Word of advice: As long as the hiring manager signs off on someone (it sounds like they did), please don't let something like being a couple years shy of the experience benchmark you're setting from moving a candidate forward. Especially if the person checks all the other boxes of what's required for the role. This comes off as rather arbitrary and limiting your talent pool.
For those applying: Make sure you check ALL of their boxes or you may face a similar situation.
