I was first interviewed by the VP, People Operation, then after 2 days I was interviewed by the CEO, Managing Partner, VP of Customer Success, and peer Sr. Data Scientist. They all happened in two weeks and relatively quick turn-around. The interviews were standard, they gave me 2 take home test, one code-based machine learning problem, and the 2nd one was about my approach for a specific Machine Learning problem that I needed to present to a peer Sr. data scientist.
They then asked for references which I provided 4 past co-workers and managers to them. They contacted all of them and talked to them. Couple days after that they extended me a job-offer. I had other job offers, so I negotiated with them on the terms and they came back to me and said that the CEO really wants me on the team. They matched the offer with my other job offers. I accepted their offer which was then co-signed by the CEO. I was supposed to start on July 12th. I received welcome email from Managing partners and peer data Scientist. The VP, People Operation reached out and said that they are really thrilled and want me on the team. However, they just need to push back the start date to July 19th since the on-boarding is not ready. I was waiting for the Laptop which they were supposed to send me on July 19th, but I never heard from them. They disappeared. The so called âVP, People Operationâ who used to contact me almost every day and expressed that theyâre really thrilled to have me joining the company, was suddenly disappeared. They didnât even bother to contact and say whatâs going on. Not even cared me as an applicantâŚ.what kind of culture is this really!!?
The problem was that I had turned down my other job offers because of Splice Machine!!
