      AI Engineer Interview

      Sep 18, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Irvine, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stealth (CA) (Irvine, CA) in Feb 2020

      Interview

I recently had the chance to interview with STEALTH, and I have to say, it was unlike any interview I’ve had before. The entire process felt super modern and AI-driven, which is totally in line with what you’d expect from a company that’s focused on building AI-powered businesses. First off, the screening process was all handled by AI. No back-and-forth with a recruiter — I just submitted my resume online, and their system automatically sent me an invite to the next stage. It felt really efficient, like they were already ahead of the game. The actual Zoom interview was cool. It wasn’t just one person asking me standard questions. I met with a panel of three — one was a tech lead, another was a product manager, and someone from HR. They all introduced themselves, and it was clear they’re all about AI, machine learning, and making sure their tech really makes a difference in the world. But even with all that, the vibe was casual and friendly, which helped ease the nerves. What was really interesting was that instead of just talking about my experience, they had me jump into an actual coding challenge live on Zoom. I got to share my screen, and we walked through a problem together. It felt less like a test and more like a collaboration — like they wanted to see how I’d fit into their team. Plus, it gave me a sense of the kind of work they’re doing at STEALTH, which made the whole thing feel more relevant. After that, we moved into some culture-fit questions, but even those felt different. They asked me about my thoughts on the future of AI, how I see it impacting work and sustainability, and what excites me about the field. It wasn’t the usual Where do you see yourself in five years? stuff — more like a conversation about the future, which, let’s be honest, is way more fun to talk about. Overall, the whole experience was smooth and forward-thinking. Even after the interview, I got follow-up questions from their HR platform, and they were super fast with feedback. If you’re into AI and startups, this is definitely a company that walks the talk. The interview felt more like an inside look at what they’re building than just a job screening. Pretty Exciting.
