      I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sterling Pacific (Reno, NV) in Apr 2023

      Interview

      They required answers to in-depth questions for the initial application. Once submitted they provided more questions to answer via email. After responding, I was asked to join a 30-minute video interview to discuss my experience. I could quickly tell that the guise of recruitment was being used to gain professional insight and strategy from candidates' expertise. The CEO was the only person I had contact with during the process and was on a walking pad drinking a smoothie throughout the video interview. When asked, he had no timeline, salary range, knowledge of wholesale, or general idea of their hiring process for this role. This is a start-up company that currently employs 4.

What specific strategies would you propose to increase sell-through rates with our retail partners? 2. How would you determine which stores to target in order to expand our network? 3. What metrics would you use to evaluate the effectiveness of your initiatives? 4. What is your capacity to handle discomfort or adversity? 5. What circumstances provoke your frustration or outrage? 6. What achievement has given you the greatest sense of fulfillment in your life thus far?

      At Sterling Pacific, our interview process is very specific. Its purpose is twofold: to assess the skills and qualifications of potential candidates and to gain a deeper understanding of them on a personal level. The pre-first round and first-round interviews are thoughtfully designed to explore candidates' thinking and their approach to work. With that said and to be very clear, Sterling Pacific has never acquired any strategically relevant or meaningful information in first-round interviews that has prompted us to make changes to anything we are doing. The ultimate goal of our interviews is to identify individuals who seamlessly align with our team and can contribute effectively to our shared goals. It's crucial to mention that the culmination of our hiring process involves extending a short-term contract to test mutual compatibility. This approach allows both parties to assess if there is a natural fit. We firmly believe that this direct working experience eliminates all proxies, providing the most authentic insight into career alignment.
