      Mechanical Engineer Interview

      May 6, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Durango, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at StoneAge (Durango, CO) in Mar 2025

      Interview

The interview process at Stoneage was one of the most drawn-out and taxing experiences I’ve had in my career. What began as an exciting and promising opportunity quickly turned into a marathon of repetitive interviews and poor communication. Over the course of several weeks, I went through round after round of interviews with people that I would not be working with. Many of the interviews repeated the same questions, giving the impression that there is no internal communication. While I understand the need for thoroughness in hiring, this process felt excessive and left me mentally drained. It seemed more like a test of endurance than an evaluation of fit or skills and I was left feeling more frustrated than excited about the role. To make matters worse, there were long gaps of silence between stages. The lack of respect for candidates’ time was disheartening. Unless the company streamlines its process and shows more consideration for candidates, I’d hesitate to recommend interviewing here

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They are obsessed with feedback, and whether or not a person can give and take feedback. While feedback is part of any healthy relationship, it felt more like a warning or a threat.
