I got a call from the company, a day after writing a question-based cover letter to the company. I tried to answer all the questions, and the interviewer was very professional. The interviewer mentioned that she would put a good word for me to the CEO, the ultimate decision-maker I would have to interview for the second round. Despite my multiple efforts to follow up, there was no response from the company, which I believe was not very professional on their side. Even if the hiring procedure was stopped or if the company had hired somebody else, they should have at least answered my multiple emails or even phone calls following up on the matter.
