I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at SunTrust Remodeling (Irvine, CA) in Apr 2025
Interview
The process was professional, straightforward, and fast-moving — which I appreciated. I applied online and was contacted within a few days for a phone screening. After that, I had a in person interview with the Project manager and a final in-person meeting with the owner. Each step felt purposeful. They were transparent about expectations, the commission structure, and the type of mindset they’re looking for.

Interview
One phone screen interview with the Recruiter. Was then called into the office to meet with the recruiter. Asked me basic questions and invited me to the final interview with the boss the next day.
Fast forward to the next day, I get a text from the recruiter negotiating salary. Salary expectations were not brought up one time by them until he texts me 2 hours before my final interview. Terrible process

Interview
I had a phone screening and went in for the interview and was asked pretty basic questions like tell me about your resume, construction experience, etc. It went well and I was scheduled to have interview with the CEO as the next step of the hiring process. 2 hours before my interview, the recruiter reached out and told me the pay range was $5 lower than what was listed in the job description from LinkedIn and wanted to know if I wanted to continue the interview process. I asked about the total benefits package to see if it would balance out the hourly. They don’t offer any health insurance, no 401k, or holidays. Only 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours work (1.3weeks a year) and 3 sick days.
I declined to come in for the interview as it didn’t align with what I’m looking for based on compensation and benefits. The interview process was pleasant but the benefits should have been discussed during the first interview or during the phone screening process.
