      Customer Support Manager Interview

      Jun 18, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Wales, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Switchee (Wales, England) in Jun 2024

      Interview

I had a 4 stage process. Each one being approx 45-60minutes long. One of the stages was a presentation and the 4th was a culture interview with the HR Director. 5th stage was an interview with the CEO - this was pencilled in the diary but didnt proceed. Everyone you speak with is friendly and informal which does put you at ease. The Talent partner at Switchee was particularly helpful and always responsive. At point of application and through every stage of the interview I was clear, honest and transparant about my salary expectation. After the 4th interview and 5 weeks into the process I got an email and whatsapp message to say that they were unable to meet my salary expectations. I found this wholly unreasonable and not very personable after spending almost 4 hours with them. It seems somewhat unfair to require candidates to commit such a significant amount of time and effort when their candidacy could have been ruled out from the outset based on this information. I have openly and candidly provided this feedback to the team via email which after 4 days has not promoted a response. Therefore there is nothing in this review which the team are not already aware of. I'm very fortunate to have a good support network around me, Job searching it incredibly difficult, sole destroying and can take its toll on peoples mental health. Rejection is absolutely fine and should be expected. But it's incredibly important that businesses are honest, transparent and ensure their candidate experience is kind to people. I really hope my feedback has prompted a review and internal discussion to ensure others don't experience the same.

Hey there, We are very grateful for you taking the time to review the interview process for this role. We empathise with the fact that it's challenging to find a suitable opportunity, and we approach that by sharing our salary ranges, role seniority, and expected workload in each job description. It has indeed been a case of a senior candidate like yourself applying to a much more junior-budgeted position. We have involved the department directors and the CEO to consider restructuring the whole team in hopes of accommodating your scope! We have worked hard to design and deliver a plan that would allow someone of your seniority to thrive in that department. Unfortunately, we were not ready to undergo such a change at this time. We are very grateful to have met you and believe you have a bright future ahead of you, with many companies being lucky to have you! As we mentioned before, we have prepared detailed feedback to help you in your job search and are waiting to hear if you want it :) Warm wishes! Olya People Director
