      Communications Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Symphony Solutions

      Interview

Overall, the recruitment process was quick and well-organised. I’d particularly like to highlight the English test — it was interesting and gave a good introduction to the company’s product. I went through several stages, including a screening with a recruiter, an English test, and an interview with the hiring manager. I was then invited to a final interview with a VP-level representative. However, after speaking with the hiring manager, I decided not to proceed further in the process. Unfortunately, this interview raised several concerns for me. Instead of a structured discussion, it felt like an unproductive conversation focused on internal issues, particularly disappointment about a team member leaving the company. The task I was given during the interview was quite abstract, and although I tried to openly share my thoughts, I was met with a dismissive attitude and a clear unwillingness to listen from the interviewer. Furthermore, part of the conversation felt discouraging: I was strongly criticised as not being a good fit for the role, while it was also suggested that I might still be considered if I significantly lowered my salary expectations. This came across as unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. Based on this, I would recommend that candidates pay close attention to the communication style and expectations during the interview process.
