      Project Leader Interview

      Feb 15, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Royston, East of England, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TAP Biosystems (Royston, East of England, England)

      Interview

I applied for the role through a recruiter. Despite my feelings about job recruiters, this one was actually quite on top of communications. It took about a week from when I initially applied for the position to attending a face-to-face interview. I was invited to perform an online critical thinking test ahead of my face-to-face interview with a member of HR and one head. The questions were technical and based around challenges faced with minimising waste for automated manufacturing processes. He seemed like quite a personal character and I felt that I would be happy to work with him. I reasonable amount of feedback was offered (via the recruiter) as to why the company was not interested in proceeding with my application. This is quite rare from my experience with similar companies. Most of the feedback was perfectly sensible, although one criticism – that I did not have sufficient project management experience, was an odd one, given that my (in-)experience in that area should have been evident from my CV, and at no point in the interview was I interrogated on project management. Nevertheless my experience was quite positive. They even offered to cover my travel expenses.
