Four calls in total, one with recruiter, one with line manager, one with head of department and one with a cross functional colleague the role would interact with. I didn’t find the interview process difficult, much of the time was focused on culture and fit questions it seemed and less on technical evaluation. Process took two months, however the week after my last call I followed up for news and they informed me that they had decided to move the role location and change the role to the extent that my CV was no longer a fit. They didn’t provide supporting evidence of this. It was hard not to find this exceptionally frustrating, especially as the language used during the calls was very suggestive of an offer ‘we will be doing XXX together and you’ll have to plan YYY’ and also because it was never shared that there was uncertainty about hiring for the role. For this reason I have to rate the process negatively, some transparency would have gone a long way.
