I participated in seven interviews. It later became apparent that the original intention was to have me replace an individual who was not meeting their quota; however, this person eventually achieved the required performance metrics. The interviewers expressed that they were impressed with me, yet rather than being transparent about the situation, they left me waiting for several months with no clear outcome. This situation was particularly challenging for me as I had recently experienced a layoff and was not in a position to decline potential opportunities—even those that may not have served my best interests. Unfortunately, it seemed they were aware of my circumstances and took advantage of them.
